Welcome to the 2012 Summer Institute - ELA Common Core!

I won't lie. I am a wiki-novice! I am setting this up as a space where participants can find information, resources, or have discussions. It is PRIMARILY for storing a LOT of resources so they can be retrieved at a later date and at the participant's convenience. I guess I could add more pages as we go along!

Here are some of the main websites you can use for resources/information!

Also, check out the APP! "Hey! There's an APP for that!"

Also, a participant added some AP English Language rubrics for a research paper that use the CCR Writing Standards - see Module 4 for the 3 rubrics (process, format, and research/synthesis essay).

Sharon Miller (PacosMom) uploaded some documents from Education Week that deal with the Common Core. There is a great deal of good information and some articles by some who raise some concerns that need to be addressed.

Check out this site: A Close Video Reading of the Common Core ELA. It was created by Kevin Hodgson Using TEDedBeta. Your instructions:
This flipped classroom project is designed to give you an overview of the ELA standards of the Common Core using a video from The Teaching Channel. Your task is to conduct a "close reading" of the video just as you would with a piece of reading. Pay attention to the ways information is presented, the producer's stance, strategies for explanation, the selection of interviewees, and more.
